In September 2020, Colingua’s interpreters and technical teams launched ColinguaRSI in response to the pandemic and to help their clients meet online via multilingual videoconferences.
Since then, our online interpreting agency has provided simultaneous translation for hundreds of videoconferences, webinars and other online events. Every client and every situation requires its own interpreting solutions.
In the vast majority of cases, our customers have asked for interpreting to be carried out using Zoom, as this videoconferencing tool enables interpreting channels to be set up, as if you were in a conference room with a receiver allowing you to choose the language you are listening to.
100% online videoconferencing
This is the simplest option to set up. Everyone remains online, participants and interpreters.
- Participants and interpreters online for Ciriec
For Ciriec, our conference interpreters offer simultaneous online translation in English, French and Spanish for board meetings or business meetings. Members are connected via Zoom and spread across the world.
- Participants and online interpreters for Europan Europe
For Europan Europe, a European architecture and town planning competition, our interpreters provide online interpreting in French, English, Spanish and German to suit the client’s needs. For example, we provided simultaneous interpreting on Zoom for the competition held during the pandemic. On this occasion, not only the interpreters, but also the organisers and participants were online. ColinguaRSI also set up the technical side so that several virtual ‘rooms’ could be available at the same time.
Hybrid conferences combining face-to-face and online sessions
This formula allows clients to meet in a traditional room while keeping the interpreters or other participants at a distance.
The United Nations Inter-Agency Task Force on the Social Solidarity Economy (UNTFSSE) called on our online interpreting services for its Fourth Technical Symposium. ColinguaRSI provided simultaneous online interpreting on Zoom, while the Canadian technical teams took care of the streaming, video recording and provision of headsets in the room.
- Participants in Switzerland and interpreters on Zoom
The UCI (International Cycling Union) regularly calls on the services of Colingua and ColinguaRSI interpreters. In order to avoid unnecessary travel and reduce their carbon footprint, the interpreters regularly stay at home and work on Zoom.
